Amanda called the meeting to order at 7:30.
 
She welcomed our guests, Amanda, Eileen and Jordan.
 
July 20 -  Board meeting.
 
July 26- Chef Chris and his team will serve breakfast next year.
 
Linda Gilbert shared outcomes of yesterday’s service committee (new) meeting.  They quantified our projects on paper and labelled by donation, service, etc and monthly. 
 
Dan briefed the club on the flood relief he, Charlie and Peter participated in on Sunday, collecting supplies for flood victims.   Lyric Theater is accepting donations tomorrow and Dan will keep us advised of all the possibilities.  Waterbury Rotary is seeking donations for food to make bagged lunches for helpers.
 
Our club, Chris,  will assist Habitat for Humanity with parking tomorrow and friday.
 
July 27 is the “need a ride” event for which we are providing a few drivers.  The dinner is at Bistro Cucina.
 
Sept 9 - next RaceVermont event and Chris will share with the board tomorrow the possibility of the food tent supported by our club.
 
Gary shared that Jamie Bissonette, former owner of The Dutch Mill has been ill.  His house was flooded due to the construction and he cannot move back home until this is taken care of it. 
 
Annette collected the happy fines.
 
Denis introduced Eileen Corcoran from the Vermont Historical Society.  Director of Services & Outreach, she lives in Vergennes.  She has twenty years in museum and theater, has a B.A. in Anthropology and a Masters degree in Museum Organization.
 
VHS was founded in 1838, private non profit.  Mission is to engage Vermonters and”Vermonters at heart” in the rich history of Vermont.
 
Started as a library with natural history and evolved into the human and traditional, current museum.  Currently in The Pavillion in Montpelier, survived last weeks’ flood with no water.
 
Vermont History building in Barre is also part of the VHS with objects and houses the library. 
 
 
Their online archives, “Vermont stories”and “Digital Vermont.”  Stores covid 19 stories and will be a source of telling our stories on the recent floods. 
 
 “This Place In History” is a series that airs on Channel 22.   She shared a video on the Shelburne Shipyard that was shown on this show, available on the website.
 
History fosters community that bridges generations, provides a sense of place,defines unique identities, allows us to work together to explore commonalities and shared histories.

Jim Donovan presented the book “Northern Vermont In The War of 1812” by Jason Barney to be donated to the Charlotte Library in her name.
