Dan York introduced Ric Cengeri from HomeShare Vermont.

This program benefits our communities by pairing community together of all ages.  It helps pay rent and utilities and/or provide services for low income Vermonters.

The organization has been in Vermont for forty years.  They base pairings on interests, needs and lifestyle.  HomeShare VT works with both host and roomate  for the duration of the contract.

The average rent for the roomate is $380 per month.  The program reduces social isolation and allows the opportunity to delay or eliminate nursing home placements, while assisting low income citizens and aging in place.  This includes but is not limited to housekeeping, companionship, cooking, yard/snow help, errands, pet care, driving and computer help.

Dan presented Ric with the book “Super Aging: Getting Older Without Getting Old” by David Cravit to be donated to The Shelburne Library in Ric’s name.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30.
