Two decisions were made by the Board:
  1. The decision to lower the price of the car raffle tickets was made.  This will enable the price to participate to be more affordable and accessible to the community at large.  The exact number and cost is too be decided.
  2. The decision to suspend the bowl-a-thon was made and transfer the effort to the Halloween Parade.  The idea of potentially selling advertising, golf ball drop, etc. all being discussed.
 
 
A show of hands showed approval for both of these decisions from the club.
 
Announcements:
Lara announced that there were three trustee openings for the Library Board that were open. 3 year term that met once a month on the third Thursday at 6:30pm.
 
Alan still had SuperBowl squares available for $5.

1901 founded and it is independently funded with an annual budget of $880,000. It is not affiliated with the national organization.
 
100 animals are on site at a time and last year found homes for 948 animals.
 
Services provided include the following:
  • Facility to provide Feline and Canine Care and also take in other small animals such as Bunnies, chinchillas, mice, rats, gerbils, etc.
  • Community Programs
  • Coordinate a staff of volunteers
  • Investigations – the investigator will work with individuals in education and try to get them to willingly relinquish their animals vs. going through the process of working with authorities to seize the animals.
  • Feral Cat colonies
  • Low cost spay/neuter clinics
  • Good neighbor program
  • Spay the mom
  • Rainy Day Fund
  • Local vets have been great partners.
  • Purses for Paws is one of their upcoming big fundraisers
