Alan Bates announced the Kentucky Derby fundraiser raised $172.50 for the club. The Derby winner was Nyquist. The Preakness is May 21. Will we be hearing from our local Gaming Commissioner at the next meeting?

 

Alan Bates also announced that, along with with Howard Seaver and Susan Grimes, they had successful interviews with this year's RYLA participants. They have selected four scholarship recipients.

 

Our Rotary Club received a thank you note from Mark Gadue on behalf of Northern Friends of Haiti. Mark Gilbert recently spoke to the Club about this organization.

 

The Club has welcomed three new members.

 

Terrell Titus announced that the Paul Harris Fellows are seeking nominations for exceptional members in our community.

 

Lena Kerest and Sophie Pauerman spoke to our Club about their research on education for women in Afghanistan. They recently won Vermont History Day and will have a presentation at National History Day. They will be having fundraising events in late May.
