President Richard Fox led the members in the pledge and Kris Engstrom gave the devotional.
We didn’t have any guests, but we welcomed back Colleen Haag, who hasn’t been at meetings recently, with a round of applause. Good to see you Colleen.
Announcements:
For the schedule of up coming events.
Sergeant at Arms Evan Webster, responding to a “mix-it-up” seating plan (pick a number and sit at a table where you don’t usually sit and talk to some new people) challenged everyone to share stories they had learned while talking to their table … or to share a story about meeting your neighbors.
Because we didn’t have a designated note taker, we don’t have an accurate record of everyone’s Happy Fines. Suffice it to say that as always they were Happy, Illuminating, and Not Embarrassing!
Speaker Sam Feitelberg
Sam provided an overview of the 10 years that Hands to Honduras Tela has been planning, fund raising, recruiting, negotiating, building, staffing, training and helping the people of the city of Tela and the surrounding district with much needed Physical Therapy services.  His presentation, illustrated with pictures of the construction of the center as it grew to its current four-building size, the staff as it has grown from a handful of volunteers to a trained and professional staff, and the children who have come to the center with heart-wrenching disabilities and been helped to live productive lives, was insightful and encouraging. Nicole Gilbert (a daughter of Linda and Al Gilbert who have been so key to the success of H2H and a physical therapist who has been to Tela for many of the 10 years of the work) was also present at the meeting. Thank you to Sam, Nicole and the many others who have made, and continue to make, this work so successful.
