Jim introduced Lieutenant Colonel Therese Farrell from the Vermont Army National Guard.

LTC Farrell was commissioned out of West Point in 2001 and sent to Germany and ultimately on two tours of duty to Iraq.  She obtained a Masters from Norwich University in 2019 and eventually became the 186th Brigade Support Battalion leader.

In 2007 she left active duty and returned to the States one year later.  In 2011, she joined the Vermont Army National Guard and deployed to Kosovo.  Now as the BSB Battalion Commander, she handles overseas logistics with a $9M budget.

Vermont Army National Guard “works” for the Governor, making it a unique Battalion.  This past summer they supported flood-ravaged areas in Vermont, for example.  They will deploy to the Balkans in 2025.  She also highlighted the partnerships that have been formed with the countries of  Macedonia, Austria and Senegal.   This is designed to assist those countries with military development.

Jim Donovan presented LTC Therese Farrell with three books, one to be donated to each library in her name. “Veteran Benefits For You” by Paul R. Lawrence, Ph.D, “Tuesday Tucks Me In” by Luis Carlos Montalvan and “Twenty One Steps” by Jeff Gottesfeld.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30.
